Update 0.6 - Gym rework & Room service

New in update 0.6:

  • The gym rework and Hunk romance path
    • The player can now choose what equipment to use (Yoga, Weights, Treadmill).
    • Player can now insult and compliment Hunk to raise/lower their relationship.
    • Using the treadmill has 5 failure scenes and 5 success scenes.
    • Lifting weights has 5 failure scenes and 5 success scenes.
    • Yoga has 5 failure scenes and 5 success scenes.
    • High-relationship players now have access to two nsfw scenes with Hunk.
    • The gym now features 3 bad ends, one for each equipment-failure scene at very high weight and low relationship.
    • There are now a total of 3 date locations, with 4 variants each depending on how big you are.

The gym was the smallest location in the game, and I'm glad to have fleshed it out much more. There are still parts I'm unhappy with, but I'm happy to put it back onto the back-burner for a bit longer now. The "problem children" of the game are now the Park and the Burger Joint, which'll get their own reworks in the coming updates.

  • The first piece of artwork (The taxi driver portrait)  is now in the game!
    • You can see this charming fellow in the intro, as well as when he's driving you back to the hotel.

Very excited to add the first piece of art with this update. More's on its way!

  • Hotel room service
    • The player can now order room service. For high Simon-relationship & weight players, each dish has a unique semi-nsfw scene depending on what you ordered, as well as how "mean" you want to be. There are currently 6 fat-play scenes with Simon, and about a dozen food-eating scenes preceding them.

The hotel was a bit barren, and there were no ways to interact with Simon despite him being a huge pervert. Definitely expect some expansions to this later on.


  • Player "Jobs" removed and replaced with bonuses instead
    • Instead of "Tourist", "Food reviewer" and "Private Investigator", the player is now asked why they're visiting the town. The three new options "For adventure", "For food", and "For friendship" now give the player bonuses instead. This enables player to fast-track themselves towards content they enjoy seeing.

I'm honestly really relieved to make this change. For a while I was apprehensive about a progression system for each job, since it'd involve designing, writing and play-testing three different progression paths every single update. Ultimately, the job system didn't add enough to the game to warrant the trouble, so I decided to remake it into a system that directs the player to fun content instead.

  • New "Popularity" system
    • The blog has been removed. You now have a relationship stat for each NPC which changes based on how you act towards them.
    • The Upper-Left UI will now dynamically display the relationship you have with an NPC.

This change was made because the blog system didn't feel engaging, and the popularity system was far too simple. Ideally, somewhere down the line, the player will be asked questions by NPCs or even judged on their choices elsewhere in the town if it makes sense for the NPC to find out.

  • Matt/Clothing store romance content
    • 7 new dialogue options added, with variants, making for 21+ new pieces of dialogue.
  • Simon/Hotel Receptionist dialogue
    • You can now ask Simon various questions, as well as insult or compliment him.
  • Miscellaneous changes
    • The park jogging bad end is now a percentage chance, since popularity has been removed. Expect this bad-end to be changed and possibly re-written soon.
    • There is now a "heading out" menu to accommodate the new places the player can visit in the hotel.
    • The player's weight is now explicitly mentioned on the first night in order to avoid confusion once the UI appears.
    • New locations now unlock gradually, with one new location appearing every 2 days.
    • Matt "Upset" dialogue changed to reflect that the blog has been removed. You have to be mean to him in person to trigger the bad-end now, sorry!
    • Park bad-end has been changed to reflect the blog being removed.
    • Passing the front desk scenes have been changed to reflect that the receptionist's name is known (Simon).
