[Patreon] Build 55 - "Engine Upgrade (pt1.)"

Time for this week's Friday build. It was a real tough one this week, so expect a few bugs here and there!


What's new?

  • The game now runs on 'Twine Sugarcube' instead of 'Twine Harlowe'. As a result:
    • The game now runs a lot better, and save files are much smaller.
    • You can now import and export your save files between versions. This is particularly useful alongside revamped accessibility and graphics menus, meaning you can enter your preferred text size/font/colours and they'll be loaded automatically along with your save file.
    • All planets, minus Scuirus Metallicum, are available to play on this new engine build. I'll finish up next week!


Known issues

  • To put it bluntly: This was a BIG update. Somewhere in the 640+ updated passages I will have made mistakes. Please report these using the "Give feedback" option in the game's sidebar!
  • Procya is a little busted. The willpower/credit balancing needs to be redone, and the way that each day is formatted has changed to accommodate the new engine. It'll be much easier to work on moving forward, but it definitely needs some fixes.
  • Background colour is no longer available in the settings menu. Sugarcube has a weird interaction with the menu, and I'm still figuring out how to program around it.
  • Some formatting is missing, especially from menus and "hypnosis"-themed scenes.
  • The Procyon caravan on Luna uses bad flags, meaning the encounter feels a little odd.
